The committee of management
We pride ourselves on being one of the last independent preschools in the Frankston area. This achievement has been possible thanks to the families who have made up our Paratea community over the past 50 years! Alongside the staff parents on the Committee of Management make decisions and achieve set goals for the kinder, this directly benefit and impacts your child’s time and journey at the kinder in a positive way. Without parent involvement we wouldn’t be able to run our preschool at a high standard and be an exceeding kindergarten.
How can you get involved?
Prior to our AGM which is held in November each year, nomination forms are sent out to families who will be attending the service the following year. Parent/Guardians are welcome to nominate themselves for a role on the Committee of Management.
Alternatively you can send in your expression of interest at anytime to our Nominated Supervisor, Lauren Legendre via email: p[email protected]
What does the Committee do?
The Committee is responsible for management of the preschool, they work closely with the staff to ensure practices are in place for the service to operate functionally and to remain financially viable. The Committee is responsible for organising various fundraising events over the year, to raise funds for the preschool to purchase new equipment and resources for the children at the kinder.
Previous experience isn’t required as you will be supported by our experienced staff and past committee members.
Meetings:
It is a requirement that the Committee of Management meets monthly, this is done at night and hosted at the kinder and/or online. Committee members are encouraged to attend where possible as we value your opinions and you may be required to vote on agenda items.
